About Kindness Matters Rescue, Inc
KMR Inc. was founded in 2010 by Susanne Hoshino in order to rescue homeless animals from high-kill environments. We assess, vet, adopt out, and/or transport to our Rescue Partners and provide outreach/education for pet retention and animal welfare.
After a visit to a local animal control facility Susi became aware of the magnitude of the homeless animal problem. KMR is commi
tted to lowering the staggering euthanasia rate and rescue as many wonderful adoptable pets as possible. We work constantly to build a magic net of rescue relationships throughout the Eastern Shore and the United States in order to rescue the most animals possible from these high-kill animal shelters.
Kindness Matters Rescue became a 501 c3 Charity in the beginning of 2019. We are very proud of the fact that we have rescued over 1,700 animals in our ten-year history.
Our core mission at Kindness Matters Rescue is to place adoptable homeless animals into loving forever homes and to promote responsible companion animal welfare through support, outreach, and education.
